Mercedes T-Class gets the Marco Polo treatment with help from Brabus
Mercedes’ Marco Polo line of vans has proven popular with outdoor enthusiasts and now the T-Class is getting the treatment.
However, it is not a complete conversion because Mercedes offers a Marco Polo “camping module” produced by Brabus and available ex works. This means that existing owners can convert their vans into micro motorhomes.
Ready to order later this year, the Marco Polo camping pod comes with a “bed unit” that includes a 4-inch (10cm) thick mattress that promises to comfortably accommodate two people. The sleeping area is collapsible and measures 78.7 inches long by 45.2 inches wide (2 meters by 1.15).

Besides the bed, buyers will find ventilated panels with mosquito nets that can be installed in the front windows. Other highlights include “blackout elements for all windows” and rear pillar storage compartments.
Customers looking to do some serious camping will want to purchase the optional kitchen unit. It includes a sink and a 3.2 gallon (12 liter) water tank, as well as a small refrigerator and a gas stove. Buyers will also find soft-close drawers, two camping chairs and a table that can be used inside and outside the vehicle.
According to Mercedes, the bed and kitchen units can be installed or removed by two people in “a matter of minutes”, meaning you can have a traditional vehicle during the work week and a “micro motorhome” on the weekend. end. If that’s not your cup of tea, Mercedes has teased that a “fully integrated micro motorhome” will arrive in the second half of 2023.
