Green groups challenge removal of protections from tall trees

By Joyce Hanson (June 16, 2022, 9:18 p.m. EDT) – Six environmental nonprofits have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Forest Service in federal court in Oregon challenging the agency’s decision to remove longstanding protections for large and old trees in the Pacific Northwest under an amended forest management plan.
