BASF Adds Flo Rite Pro 2805 Seed Coating Polymer, Improves Seed Treatment Value for Growers

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, December 6, 2021 – BASF introduces the next generation of potting polymers for seed treatment with Flo Rite® Pro 2805. Designed to improve adhesion and retention of the active ingredients, the polymer of coating Flo Rite Pro 2805 preserves the full value of seed treatments while helping to protect both workers and the environment.

The main advantages of Flo Rite Pro 2805 include:

  • Exceptional retention of the active principles of seed treatment, preserving their value on the seeds

  • Improved uniform coverage and application of insecticides, nematicides and fungicides applied to seeds

  • Reduced adhesion, bridging and clumping, which increases the precision of seed drop

  • Compatibility with the main BASF fungicides, insecticides, nematicides and inoculants

This new innovation from BASF will replace Flo Rite 1706 in North America, offering better seed flow while maintaining low utilization. Flo Rite Pro 2805 combats potential fluidity issues by filling pores and smoothing / drying seed surfaces for improved fluidity, while adhering to the seed-to-seed treatment.

“We are delighted to launch Flo Rite Pro 2805, which will provide soybean, dry bean and pea growers with advanced polymer-based technology that combines adhesion properties with exceptional seed flow to optimize plant populations for higher yields, ”said Anna Vladimirova, PhD, Product Manager Dyes and Coatings for Seed Treatment at BASF US.
